I chose to research the genre of fairy tales, in particular those written and told by the Brothers Grimm. Fairy tales took shape in sixteenth-century Italy as literature for adults. They are known for being children's stories about magical, imaginary beings in wondrous lands. They can also be described as a made-up story, especially intended to deceive the mind. Typically features European fantasy characters. The characters can be distinguished from other folktales such as legends. They can also be found in oral and literary forms. The term is also used to describe something happy, also known as a “fairytale ending.” The history of fairy tales is particularly difficult to reconstruct. I am writing this article because I am interested in the history and importance of fairy tales. Stories are very important to us because they allow us to share things with others over time and also with people around the world. If we didn't have stories, we wouldn't be as creative as we are now. They also helped us talk to more people around the world and see what kind of stories they like to read. The stories have influenced me in more ways than one. They gave me more creativity and opened my mind to new places, people and things. When you read you get sucked into another world. It allows you to escape reality for a while. One day Mr Boardman announced that we were going to do a research paper on fairy tales/fables/folktales. I wasn't very interested, but I thought it wasn't such a bad topic. Then he read the original “Sleeping Beauty” story, and that's when I got interested. It kind of confused me considering that Disney took all these stories that might have tended to be morbid and turned them... center of paper...
