Florida Government – Current Major Issues To begin with, it should be noted that the government of Florida is operated and established under the Florida Constitution, which is the primary legal document of the state . According to the Constitution, the government is composed of three branches. First, it is the executive branch composed of Florida's ruling governor and other appointed and elected constitutional officials. The second is the legislative branch, or the Florida Legislature. It is made up of the House and Senate, as well as some other functions such as state auditors or the Public Service Commission which regulates public services. The third branch of Florida's government is the judicial branch. It is made up of the Florida Supreme Court and other lower courts. It should be emphasized that the main issues of the government of the state of Florida lie in the legislative sphere and are seriously discussed in society. With a slowly recovering economy producing more revenue, the question of passing a new state budget appears serious. It faces numerous complex challenges, ranging from growing pressure to expand and fund Medicaid, the federal-state health program for the disabled and poor, to the ongoing debate over educational standards, school grades and the entire testing process. According to the research, despite Florida's expected increase in state revenue, lawmakers and the governor are asking state agencies to outline a potential 5% cut in their spending that will be used in evaluating the next budget. It can be called one of the most current budget issues in Florida. The second serious question derives from the first and concerns the fiscal sphere. Lawmakers will likely support the tax cuts, but... middle of paper... the majority of Florida's population and they should be thoroughly analyzed before making permanent changes that affect the state's population, after all, Rome was not built in one day, but almost burned down in one day.
