Topic > Pobrography: The Negative Effects of Teen Pornography

There are millions of searches for pornography in the United States alone. The most important thing to look for, as far as porn goes, is the teen. Teen porn is such a popular trend that it tripled between 2005 and 2013, and is still the fastest growing genre (Dines, 2013). Since the Internet is open to all, children around the age of 10 are already, sometimes daily, exposed to pornography. A child's mind is so easy to persuade, especially at an early age. Studies have shown that seven out of ten young people have been exposed to porn in the United States (Carroll et al, 2008). When children are constantly exposed to pornography, they start to believe the things they see on the screen. They begin to believe that marriage is not a “good” thing, that satisfaction does not matter and they become addicted to it. Pornography exposes the wrong aspects of sexual orientations and has the potential to ruin their lives. Pornography has become a big problem for people in relationships. Relationships are built on faith and nourishment, not pornography. Women in relationships are thus defeated because they believe that they will never be able to live up to the expectations of their partner's fantasies. Men begin to compare their loved one to what they see and both the man and the woman become dissatisfied. Many marriages end and people stop trusting each other
