Topic > Mission Statement for Engineering Management Program

“To live without regrets, we must have a concrete purpose, continually setting goals and challenges for ourselves. Those who don't have challenges don't have responsibilities." - C. Joy Bell C. Coming from a family that always encouraged me to study and achieve my goals, I completed my bachelor's degree in Engineering from GITAM University (Gandhi Institute of Technology And Management) with a B.A. . It is after a long phase of self-evaluation that I decided to undertake university studies in Management Engineering. This decision came naturally after carefully considering my academic background, my areas of interest and my highest professional ambition. The way my father managed and guided his subordinates in the family business to achieve the optimum outcome developed a keen interest in me to choose engineering management. I was fascinated by the commendable way of procuring the required work with proper management technique. I have known the importance of proper management all my life and this has baffled me with its various aspects which developed interest in me to take responsibility. Responsibility is a challenging phase of management and I have always welcomed challenges as they have come because they have always brought out the best in me. Some parts of my college subjects like Management Information Systems, Software Management and Project Planning and Management created a great impact in my mind and always caught my attention and pushed me to take a step further. This lit the spark in me and shed light on my goals. Having a steady increase in my grades throughout my undergraduate level has educated me to face the challenges that I… halfway through… er in these years of my undergraduate studies. I have always been goal oriented and had a vision to achieve my mission in every aspect of life, including academics. Therefore, I am confident that I have acquired both a broad foundation in information technology and a solid foundation in engineering management. I understand that the New York Institute of Technology expects very high standards of its students. For my part I can assure you of hard work. I believe my enthusiasm will allow me to meet these expectations. My consistency in all previous academic and co-curricular activities is what gives me confidence when I say this. Learning from my mistakes and never being humiliated by any kind of obstacle has transformed me into a better human being by giving me the courage to face life as it comes. I look forward to joining the New York Institute of Technology.
