School is the center of children's lives. Online harassment can happen at home, but the consequences are often seen at school and can interfere with the educational environment. In the worst cases, students are so worried about cyberbullying that they cannot concentrate on studying or are afraid to come to school. It has become an issue of school climate and safety (Adams, Caralee). Because cyberbullying often takes place outside of school, it is a more difficult form of bullying for schools to address. However, given its growing prevalence, there are actions that school administrators can and should take to reduce cyberbullying and its effects (Preventing Cyberbullying). Schools are ideally placed to help children and young people understand the dangers of cyberspace and to provide strategies for dealing with bullying when they encounter it.
