The Last Temptation of Christ by Martin Scorsese shows the life of Jesus Christ and his struggle as fear, reluctance, depression, doubt and fear. However, the film deviates from the accepted biblical depiction of the life of Jesus Christ. In other words, the film is distantly derived from the Gospels of John, Luke, Mark, and Matthew. The film begins with the disclaimer of not relying on the above gospels. Instead the film is based on the book The Last Temptation of Christ by Nikos Kazantzakis. The book focuses on the dual nature of Christ or his humanity (Greydanus). The dramatic representation of Christ's humanity need not be compatible with the different articles on Christ (Greydanus). But it could be valuable and useful if a work of art focused on the truth about Christ. In The Last Temptation of Christ, the film presents the audience with the "human" Jesus, but again he is imperfect. The film has scenes depicting blasphemy.
