The fact that the case was about children made most people much more passionate about this case. Nobody was interested in the truth, the children's words were tied. Whatever the children said on the stand, the audience took it and ran. What happened to the concept of innocent until proven guilty? For all the Buckeys were guilty and seemed an easy target. No one cared about their lives and how much this case could ruin them. The media designed the story to bring down the Buckeys and they knew they would get away with it because the public was very naive when it came to cases like this. Even after the trail ended and the Buckeys were proven not guilty due to lack of evidence, the public remained true to their original beliefs. This demonstrates the impact the media could have on an issue. The media didn't let anyone form an opinion of their own and didn't want to see the Buckeys for who they really are.
