The term Christian, which literally means little Christ, should clearly express to every believer his or her ultimate goal. Everything a believer says, does, and strives for should be unequivocally in line with the words, actions, and goals of Jesus as he or she strives daily to become more and more like Him. It is indeed the process of sanctification that requires diligent and intentional effort on the part of every believer.1 Biblical Foundation The Word of God is a Christian's final authority for every aspect of his or her life, so when it comes to matters of character, you need only look to the Bible (2 Peter 1:3).
